Hi all,

I am very excited (and pinching myself a bit) to bring the news that my debut novel The Letters of Ivor Punch is to be published in Spring 2015 by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, of the Orion Publishing Group.

You can read more news of the announcement from the Orion press release here or from The Bookseller below. If you would like to know more about the novel as it emerges then keep checking on here or sign up to my mailing list (on the homepage) to get the details first!

I'm thrilled to be embarking on another creative journey, which is being guided by my literary agent Jim Gill at United Agents and my new publishers, and I hope you'll come along for the ride.

Cheers,
Colin

W&N Wins MacIntyre Auction

Weidenfeld & Nicolson has won a four-publisher auction for The Letters of Ivor Punch by Colin MacIntyre. Sophie Buchan, commissioning editor at W&N fiction, bought UK and Commonwealth rights excluding Canada from James Gill at United Agents for a "solid five-figure sum".
Set on the island of Mull, The Letters of Ivor Punch is a "story about home and leaving of it, about fathers and sons, and about an eccentric community steeped in generations of folklore and secrets".
Buchan said: "I fell head over heels with The Letters of Ivor Punch. It's a wonderfully heartfelt, gloriously anarchic novel from a natural born storyteller. Colin MacIntyre inhabits his characters with such wit and wisdom that you can't help but be drawn into his deliciously strange island world."
MacIntyre is a musician and performs most notably under the name Mull Historical Society.
